Firstly, ensure that the Smartphone and GPS are paired (for instructions on this, get as below).
Nokia Smartphone
Turn on both the GPS and your PDA. Go into the 'Connectivity' screen on your Nokia, select 'Options' and then 'New Paired Device'. Select BT GPS from the list and enter the passkey '0000' (four zero's) when prompted. Once the code has been entered, set the device to 'Authorized'.
The GPS is now paired with the Nokia Smartphone.
For information regarding connecting to your GPS software, select the 'Back' button on your browser to return to the software-specific page.
Sony Ericsson Smartphone
1. In the Application view, tap on CONTROL PANEL, CONNECTIONS tab, BLUETOOTH 2. Tab the SETTING tab and set Bluetooth to ON.
2.Select the DEVICES tab and press ADD
3. The phone stars searching for Bluetooth devices. Make sure that the BT-Q880 is in paring mode.
4.When the BT-Q880 becomes visible in the AVAILABLE DEVICES menu, tap it.
5.Enter the PASSKEY (0000 by default) and press DONE. On the screen, BONDING COMPLETED appears.
6.Tap DONE and BT-Q880 is added to the list of Bluetooth devices and is ready to use.
Once paired, open TomTom Mobile 5 and select 'Change Preferences' from the menu. Select 'Show GPS Status', and then select 'Configure' on the bottom right corner. The GPS should be set-up as 'Other Bluetooth GPS', and then select the Bluetooth port on your mobile device.
For Tomtom, (navigation software in your PDA/smart phone)
Back to GPS status screen - check left upper corner. Does it show " No GPS device" or " No Valid GPS signal " ?
If "No GPS device" it means you didn't connect the BT-Q770 with PDA/smart phone right, Pls. will try again Bluetooth connect.
If " No Valid GPS signal" , Pls. will go outdoor and make sure the BT-Q770 with Red LED flashing continuously and this means BT-Q770 can receive GPS signal correctly.
Simple procedure to start up BT-Q770 with your PDA/Smart phone
Long press Power button to power on BT-Q770. (Red LED steady on, Bluetooth LED flashing every 3 seconds) Turn on your Bluetooth function of smart phone/PDA then search new Bluetooth device. You will be found BT GPS and do the pairing. You might be asked to type password 0000 if necessary. After pairing successfully, Blue LED must be flashing every one second. Then you can open your navigation software to check if receiving satellite data from BT-Q770.(If done the receiving data, Red LED flashing continuously, Blue LED flashing every one second) It might take some time around 3~20 min. for positioning depending on your environment.
BT-Q770 LED indication status for your information:
Bluetooth LED: (for making connection with PDA/smart phone)
Blue light is flashing every 3 seconds means the you are failed to make connection between PDA/smart phone and BT GPS receiver.
Blue light is flashing every 1 second means the Bluetooth connection with PDA/smart phone is established completely.
Satellite LED: (for positioning and battery indication)
Red light steady on means GPS tracking function has been activated.
Red light is flashing continuously means your PDA/smart phone have received enough satellite data from Bluetooth GPS, then you can start to do the navigation.
When BT GPS receiver is under charging mode: Green light is steady on means battery is fully charged; Orange light is on means your Bluetooth GPS receiver is being charged for battery
Green light is flashing means battery power is low. |
